Elevation Rock Gym
Elevation Rock Gym is located in the northern part of Logan, and is a full-service climbing gym with multiple amenities. If you're brand new to climbing, they can teach you how to belay and give you a tour of the facility. There are offerings for all climbers from beginners to advanced levels, with a campus board, training area, extensive bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing. With climbing equipment for sale, climbing competitions, and countless other events, you'll definitely stay entertained in the fun atmosphere. With routes ranging from the easiest at 5.5 to the hardest at 5.13, there is something for everyone to climb! Elevation offers day passes if you're just trying it out, or memberships if you want to commit to climbing frequently. You're sure to get a great workout and learn something new!
USU Aggie Recreation Center
Students of Utah State University have access to the climbing wall in the Aggie Recreation Center (the "ARC")! The climbing gym here is run by the Outdoor Programs at USU, and there are ample instructors available to teach you new skills. The Outdoor Programs run lessons year-round that can teach you about all kinds of outdoor recreation, including climbing. Try your hand on the climbing routes with top rope, lead climbing, and bouldering next to a beautiful view through big windows! There are routes of all difficulties, especially for beginners, so you can find a way to ascend. Bring a friend, take a date, or come with a group for a few hours of fun!
The main outdoor climbing area near Logan includes all of the crags in Logan Canyon, just in the mountains above town and the university. Logan Canyon features quality limestone cliffs with dozens of climbing areas. Most of the climbing spots are just a short walk from the highway, and have modern bolts installed for safe sport climbing. Make sure to have the proper skills before climbing outside so you can safely have fun on the rocks! The guidebook for the area is called "Northern Utah Limestone Climbing", and it contains the important information you'll need to find particular climbs. For climbing in Logan Canyon, make sure to have at least a 60 meter rope and about a dozen quickdraws, in addition to regular personal climbing gear.
